Anne Carson (1950-)

Anne Carson, a poet and translator from Toronto, Ontario, has published many books of poetry. She received her BA in 1974, Her MA in 1975, and her Ph.D. in 1981. Her published works include Short Talks (1992), Autobiography of Red (1998), The Beauty of the Husband: A Fictional Essay in 29 Tangos (2001), Red Doc (2013), and Float (2016). Carson has also been awarded a Guggenheim fellowship, the MacArthur Fellowship, and the Griffin Poetry Prize, among other honors. Currently, she teaches in New York University’s creative writing program.
