Alice Moore Dunbar-Nelson (1875-1935)

Alice Moore Dunbar-Nelson was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. She published many works, including the collections Violets and Other Tales in 1895 and The Goodness of St. Rocque and Other Stories in 1899. Dunbar-Nelson wrote prose, essays, stories, and poems, and edited various magazines and publications, including The Dunbar Speaker and Entertainer and the Wilmington Advocate.
