Chimwemwe Undi (1994-)

Chimwemwe Undi is a poet based in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Treaty One. She has been there for just over a decade. A performance and page poet, she has performed at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word and Edinburgh International Book Festival. She has appeared in Room Magazine, Arc Poetry Magazine, and Prairie Fire Magazine. The Habitual Be was her debut chapbook published in 2017. Her poetry focuses mainly on social justice issues and identity. She is influenced by storytelling, spoken work traditions, and other African-American poets and artists.
