Henry Dumas (1934 – 1968)

Henry Dumas was a fiction writer and poet born in Arkansas, who moved to Harlem when he was 10. He attended City College in New York and then joined the Air Force. He attended Rutger University and then taught direct language workshops at Southern Illinois University.
