Louise Glück (1943-)

Louise Glück is a poet based in Connecticut. She is considered a brave poet, discussing the horrible, the difficult, and the painful. Her first collection was written in the first person with a disaffected, angry tone. Later works included mythic and historical figures such as Joan of Arc, Gretel from Hansel and Gretel, and Persephone. Glück uses various perspectives in unique ways.
