Quincy Troupe (1939-)

Quincy Troupe is a poet based in San Diego, California. He has written ten poetry books, three children’s books, and six non-fiction books. His most recent poetry book is Errancities. His children’s book Hallelujah: The Story of Ray Charles is to be published by Disney/Hyperion. Other works by Troupe include Earl the Pearl: My Story, Miles: The Autobiography of Miles Davis, his memoir, Miles and Me, The Pursuit of Happyness, Architecture of Language, and Transcirculatories: New and Selected Poems. He is the editor of the Black Renaissance Noire, a literary journal of the Institute of African Studies and New York Universities.
