Robert Duncan (1919-1988)

Robert Duncan was based in California. Myths and visionary mysticism heavily influenced his poetry, and his poetry was highly experimental and alternative. His point of focus was often political and social issues and statements. Duncan traveled throughout the United States and Canada, lecturing and teaching at Black Mountain College in North Carolina. He was also a leader of the 1950’s Black Mountian poets.
