Tracy K. Smith (1972-)

Tracy K. Smith is a poet born in Massachusetts and raised in northern California. She attended Harvard University for her BA and Columbia University for her MFA. Smith has published four books of poetry: The Body’s Question (2003), Duende (2007), Life on Mars (2011), and Wade in the Water (2018). Life on Mars won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry. Smith served as the U.S. poet laureate from 2017-2019. Currently, she teaches at Princeton University.
